I've been told I'm closed off because I like to spare others from minutiae. To me, it's worse than small talk. Hence, the name I guess. But yes, I don't usually enjoy hearing it from others so I try to spare others the pain of listening to it from me.

I don't need to know that the cat smelled the trash today. Or that the neighbor left their trash can out again.

Maybe I have a different problem?
