Also, if men know that the wives have created the "mold" of "he doesn't act or do until I nag" then the man will fit themselves into the mold, as in...
"Well, she's only asked me once. She knows I never do anything on the first ask anyway. She won't really expect me to get this done right away, so why bother. It won't be a big surprise or a big deal if I wait to do it later"
Then, afterwards, there isn't much appreciation given for completing the ask. So there is nothing to look forward to. It's more like "Finally! It's about time! Took you long enough! Wow, you actually did it?! When are you gonna get to that other thing? You have time for golf but not blah blah blah"
So why would any sane man jump to his feet?
